My Kind Of Tea Party

There are two main categories of shoes in this world; those you wear and those that are art.
These bea-uuuu-tiful Nicholas Kirkwood Alice in Wonderland inspired heels are rocking a garden party all of their own.

Coco Avant Chanel

(Image via Style Frizz)

Coco Avant Chanel: Loved it!
What a beautiful, graceful, elegant movie.
If you're yet to see it, you simply must.

Lucia, it's now my turn for a humble apology- On quite a number of occasions I've looked at you with a somewhat baffled expression, as you've tried to explain to me how beautiful Audrey Tautou is and I refused to listen. Well here's the thing, I understand now...she is extraordinarily exquisite in this movie. I could not stop looking at her.
We spoke of her cast alongside Johnny Depp in our imaginary romance movie and I dismissed the suggestion all too quickly. I know we're no longer playing that game, but she has my vote now!

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

Hope the week turns out to be nice and calm for you all.  On a side note, today I was asked to be godmother to a friends baby. I'm so honoured and I promise to be there for LP as he makes his way through life.   Much Love xo

One of Many Reasons To Live in New York City

(Images via Bergdorf Goodman)

If you grew up in Melbourne, chances are you've lined up at one point or another to view the Myer windows at Christmas time. Whilst pretty magical when you're young, they tend to loose their shine with maturity.
So where does one go when the Myer windows no longer cut it?

Well- if you're female, fashion obsessed (or not) and just a little bit in love with Sex and the City, you head to the Bergdorf Goodman windows on 58th Street, New York City!
Styled by Patricia Field and filled to the brim with all the designer labels, shoes and accessories you could dream of, it's the department stores tribute to this weeks release of Sex and the City 2.

Oh how I wish I was in NYC this week....allow SATC fever to take me over....
Because if you can't strut the streets, wearing an outfit so absurdly high fashion at a time like this, when can you?

These Shoes In My Size Please

It seems that with the help of Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicholas Kirkwood is the new 'shoe kid' on the block.
After reading an article on him in UK Vogue, I decided to spend a little time scrolling through his shoe archives - W.O.W! I mean I knew he made amazing shoes, but he's really brought shoe design to a whole new level.

Christian Louboutin popularised the hidden platform and now with his angular, curved version, Kirkwood has brought a whole new spin to it.

These shoes in my size wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to a gal!

Sometimes It All Works Out...

I went to a new hairdresser yesterday (oh god I hope my old one is not reading this....sorry!) and had one of the most pleasant hair appointments I've ever had.  I can feel my new hairdresser and I will be firm friends. I'm not game enough to post a photo of my fabulous hair(i know i know that's a bold statement but hey I'm still on a hairdresser high) but its kinda something like Zooey Deschanel's but with a little less fringe.
Thanks for the recommendation Edie. xo

Now This A Blonde I Could Like...

...I admit to not really paying that much attention to hairstyles that are styled using blonde hair.  Which is a dead giveaway that I'm a brunette. But this hair pic above is simple but stunning nonetheless.

Hello My Pretties...

My Head Hurts...

...because I can't for the life of me work out how this was done. It's a simulated swimming pool made by Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich. Crazy cool.

Blog Love...

...I am in Love. With This Blog. Smitten Kitchen. Take A Look. Trust Me.

These Shoes In My Size Please

(Image via Star Style Inc)

After perusing through one of my new favourite blogs; La Passion des Louboutins I had a thought, imagine how many pairs of Louboutins I would have if I had the money to buy every pair that my heart desired...I hazard a guess that I would be a modern day Imelda Marcos.

On that note, I share with you my latest Louboutin crush- the Clic Clac diamante and lace booties. Feminine and glamorous, my heart cries with their amazingness.

V.O.G.U.E

The June/July cover of Paris Vogue is potentially my most favourite Vogue cover, ever!
The same is to be said for the Kate Moss editorial, shot by Mario Sorrenti. With a sultry, bardot-esque glamour, it's fashion genius and simply divine.

I Can't Stop Looking...

A Healthy Obsession

(Images via Live Journal ; Ana)

Earlier this week Lucia touched on my new found obsession/admiration for Carine Roitfeld. Charismatic, self assured, chic and undeniably stylish she embodies everything I would love to be.
What impresses me most, is that unlike most Vogue editors, she still styles some of the editorials in Paris Vogue - amazing!
To pick only a few photos from her editorials was beyond hard, but after scanning through them there's no denying that she is the epitome of Parisian chic.

Bookshelf Love...

...Sometimes bookshelves can be too heavy but not this baby nestled amongst the clean white walls.  Love.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

There has been a lot of talk about travel this week at work and to be honest, it is making me a tad sad. I don't think I will be travelling for a while, so instead I'll dream of past adventures and future possibilities. Much Love xx

Sweet Dreams

(Image via Google)

Now that Lucia and I have discovered my interior design style (Old Hollywood Glamour), I was super excited to find a photo of my perfect bed.
I can't imagine having anything but cosy nights and sweet dreams in a bed this wonderful.

Love Me A Vogue Editorial

These Shoes In My Size Please

There are 3 things that make these Alexander McQueen pumps obscenely fabulous:

1. The heart shaped peep toe (SO so sweet)
2. The dusting of multi coloured Swarovski crystals (Love me the sparkle)
3. Their name, 'Disco Heart Pump'

These shoes, my feet and a lit up dance floor. Disco Heaven.

How Did I Miss These...

(via People)

Wow, wow, wow. I'm not sure how I missed these two photos from Cannes but they are a standout. Ms Cotillard, welcome back. It is so nice to see you looking lovely. And Helen, well what can one say.  Amazing.

OK Edie, You've Got Me On This One...

...So Edie mentioned today that Carine Roitfeld, editor of French Vogue, is her new style fascination. At first I couldn't understand this at all, and I sadly admit to teasing her just a little about this startling claim. Well after reading this fabulous article in The Telegraph, I claim defeat and give Edie a heartfelt apology. I get it now.  I think I'm beginning to see the amazingness that is Carine Roitfeld.

File This Under Admiration

There is something so alluring and attractive about someone who is sure of themselves.
This is a picture of a woman who radiates beauty from the inside out.

I Have Been Pondering....

(Mixed media artwork by Lacey Terrell via Here Comes The Sun)

... a lot about life plans this week after a much needed chat with a friend. Do you really need a plan? Can you just float through life without a clear direction? And anyway how big do these plans have to be?
I'n not sure where these thoughts are going to take me but I do hope it's somewhere exciting.

This is Why City Weddings Rock...

(photos by Di Bezi Photography)

...what's not to love about getting married on a city roof top? I love the contrast between the prettiness and beauty of the bride and party guests and the harsh and grey of the urban background.

This Bag, My Closet

(Image via Bryan Boy)

Every now and then I stumble across a bag that makes me pine for a different life. One in which I can afford every thing my heart desires. A life full of beautiful things. Sometimes I love something so much, that for just a few seconds I think it might even make me genuinely happy.

This sequinned Miu Miu bag is one of them.

Pure Fabulousness...

AC, This One's For You...

Picture Perfect Young Lady

(Image via Happenstance)

These photos of Taylor Swift are absolutely divine. A more mature and grown up look from the usual bright and sunny Teen Vogue type of photo, I can't help but admire what a wholesome, classy young lady she is.

In a world full of pole dancing Miley's and morally bankrupt Lindsey's, it's so refreshing to see a 20 year old girl worthy of the role model status bestowed upon her.

A Matter Of Opinion

(Image via Zimbio)

Leigh Lezark: a strikingly beautiful New York model and DJ. Adored by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and considered to be one of Chanel's 'It Girls'. With her long, sleek black bob and green eyes she has an edgy style all her own.

Me: LOVES her.
Lucia: Not so much
Me: Astounded that someone doesn't find her as stunning as I do.
Lucia: Amused that I just can't seem to understand why.

This difference in opinion has me baffled....in a good way.

Lucia, you told me to build a bridge - I'm done now.

A Little Joy For Your Monday

(Image via garance dore)

I Admit I Am A Little Taken By....

....Diane Kruger. She exsudes such a quiet confidence and charm that is totally mesmerishing.  Then to top it all off I read that she is her own stylist, makeup artist, and hair-stylist. Wow. Impressive stuff.

Sketch Me A Fashion Fairytale

(Image via Vogue UK)

Georgio Armani - Lady Gaga, American Idol 2010

There's something about a designers illustrations, that always makes the clothes look so amazing....to me, they have all the makings of a fashion fairytale  of the most glamorous kind.
In my imagination, I have framed illustrations from Galliano, Lagerfeld, Armani, Gaultier, Valentino and de la Renta decorating my house, walk in robe and dressing room.
That to me, is art.
